Wing Ko is a name seen in the credits of a lot of influential early to mid 90’s videos. But little seems to have been known about him, and what he did/does, that is until now.

DSLR’s are all the new rave, and they should be, as most of the new models have great HD video capabilities. Skateboarders of course are now using them as well to shoot video, but since these dslr’s don’t have handles built into them like some video cameras, filming lines and fisheye shots in general can be a pain.
Enter Swandle. A pretty straight forward, strong, light, and easy to use handle setup designed by and built for skateboarders. (but also very usable for BMX’ing, and many other non-skateboarding shoots)
Zander has just finished up his photography portfolio website.
Be sure to look around the different sections on the site.
EDIT: The pic that was previously posted, was a screenshot from the Canon 1Dmkiv menu, not the 5dmkii. Hopefully someone from Canon will put out a clear indication or post about exactly what features we can expect on the 5D mkii on this upcoming firmware update.
In the video, a couple of Canon reps talk about 24p & (720) 60p coming to the Canon 5D Mkii via a firmware update, slated for the first half of the new year.
They also talk about how the video aspect of the 5D mkii came about, how the video side of Canon jumped in to help the DSLR dept. and a few other things.
“Don’t worry 25p and 720p 50p are there, you just need to select PAL instead of NTSC in the menu system to have those options.” – Philip Bloom
Update: No 50/60p available for 5D mkii

“Wireless iRis allows Directors of Photography, camera assistants, or Digital Technicians
the freedom of being able to move around the film set without being required to
carry additional hardware to wirelessly control the exposure or
zoom of each camera.”
Try doing that on a Blackberry!

Shot on a Canon 7D in native 24p
“I took the Canon 7d, Zacuto Tactical rig, Z-Finder V2 and one lone lens, a Canon 35mm f1.4, which becomes more like a 50mm lens on the 7d.” – Philip Bloom

Philip Bloom gives us his first edit after aquiring a pre-production Canon 7D. Shot @ 50p.
More to come…

The Canon 7D was introduced to the world yesterday, and all the specs are out.
The main video aspects specs are: 24p/25p, 50p/60p @720p, 18MB APC-S (not full frame)
While there are some “sample” videos, there still is no real world footage out there, but it seems that Philip Bloom might be testing one out quite soon.
